Southern Illinois University Carbondale School of Art and Design offers a wide variety of educational and extracurricular programs, and is located in Carbondale, Ill. The school offers programs in a variety of areas, including art education and history, ceramics, communication design, drawing, glass, industrial design, metalsmithing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Its campus provides a wide variety of facilities, including a library, instructional space for drawing, painting and printmaking, welding area, woodworking shop, studio art facility, computer laboratory and exhibition space. The school also provides various athletic activities, such as baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, softball, swimming, tennis, track and volleyball. Southern Illinois University Carbondale School of Art and Design is an approved institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
