Install your QuickBooks software on your computer (if not already installed). 3. Set up your QuickBooks company file with a chart of accounts that conforms to the tax return for your entity type. 4. Customize your QuickBooks company file with “items” specific to the goods, services, and costs typical for your company. 5. Create your opening balance sheet. 6.
