Michelle, and Unique Refinishers fine Support Staff, were most courteous and positive in all processes.

We hired Unique Refinishers to repair a small crack in our shower floor. The product was not how it was described. The technician didn't match the color of the floor well and he didn't tape off the edge of the floor so the mismatched color wasn't done in a straight line. We expressed our displeasure with the service. Upon re-inspection, both the technician and the manager felt they had done an excellent job. They offered to sand down the product and re-do the application. However, we did not have confidence in their work and did not want them to damage our shower floor. When the office called me for payment, we negotiated an agreed upon amount since we were not satisfied with their work. 2 months later I received a letter from a collection agency for the remaining balance. I reviewed the cashed check and see they added "partial payment" in the memo line. Whether or not it's a federal offense, at the least it's unethical to alter a check like this.

Steer clear of this dishonest company!

I've had Unique Refinishers do work in many of my rental properties throughout the Detroit area and I've had nothing but great service from them. I recommend them often. From the sales dept. to the technicians to the service dept. They have all serviced me well.

i liive in a neigborhood where all the bathrooms were built in the 1950's. I saw the work Unique Refinishers did to my neighbors bathroom and could'nt believe how awesome it looked. The entire bathroom was redone in white and looks brand new and beautiful from the tub, to the tiles on the wall to the floor! I cannot wait for them to get started. it's much more reasonable than completely remodeling my bathroom.

We have many tubs here at the motel, We had Unique come out and spray one tub as a sample of there work. That was in November of 2006, I just went and looked at that Tub today (2-6-2013) and you know what? That tub still looks great, absolutely no peeling or discoloration, and these housekeepers clean with some pretty harsh and brutal solutions. I am now looking to get about 20 tubs done and I'm going to call them first, when something ain't broke you don't try and fix it.Why should I call someone else.

I have told everyone I know to not to reglaze using Unique Refinishers. They have ruined both our bathrooms!

First the tub in my guest bathroom, rarely used is peeling both inside and out. Their response is a shrug and hundreds of dollars for the repairs. Why is the outside peeling when it never even gets wet?

The shower in the master bathroom is peeling off in strips it looks terrible. The first time they came out to repair they did charge us and said we need to dry the tiles off after each shower! Which we did and it peeled anyway...

Had I known all their rules and lack of standing behind their product I would have saved my money and retiled, which we now need to do anyway. The other post regarding their customer service is also spot on, they don't return calls and don't want to discuss repairs.

Just out of curiosity I called pretending to be a new customer, I asked if any special cleaners needed to be used or did the treated surface need to be dried off after each use both questions were answered with a 'no'.

We are considering taking them to small claims to get our money back, but my advice to you is skip the hassle and go else where.

Note I tried to give no star rating but it forced me to pick at least one. If I could give it a minus I would! Lets see how long this stays up on their Facebook page :-)

Ours was an extremely difficult problem. The Jacuzzi acrylic tub that was in our condo, when we purchased it new 24 years ago, began to show surface cracking a few years ago. As the cracks became worse, we contacted Jacuzzi and they recommended a firm in Fowlerville, Lon's Creative Coatings. It took less than a few weeks to ascertain that they had used the incorrect material in their refinish, and their workmanship was inferior. The warranty proved to be worth less than the paper on which it was written. This was reported to Jacuzzi and another Jacuzzi-recommended Contractor was contacted. They could do only a band-aid repair for us and recommended that, short of a total bathroom re-model, we contact Unique Refinishers, Inc. in Canton. Understandably wary, we checked them out on Angie's List. Initially, we were rather disappointed by their C rating, as opposed to another firm that had an A rating. However, as we delved deeper, we discovered that Unique Refinishers was downgraded not for workmanship--which received high ratings--but because of such issues as an unpleasant experience with a telephone receptionist. The A ratings for the other firm was for work such as replacing chipped tiles rather than for bathtub refinish. We invited both firms to provide estimates and references. The A firm had to be prodded several times before a couple of references were provided, and neither was for a bathtub refinish. Unique Refinishers provided more than half a dozen contacts, including some whose work had been completed a number of years earlier. (We were anxious to know how the work had held up.) All the clients, without exception, responded very favorably. Unique Refinishers patiently and responsively addressed the myriad questions of concern with which we had bombarded them over a number of weeks. Both estimates were in the same ballpark.



Our tub was refinished this past week and we have nothing but the highest of praise for Unique Refinishers, beginning with the estimator who first came to view the tub to the workmen who completed the job, and the telephone contacts in-between. They came on time and the work was completed very professionally. They had to sand down the tub, including not only the original finish, but the additional coatings that had been added, and then fill in the low spots before they could refinish our tub. The bathroom was left in clean condition. At completion, we were told that if there were any problems we should not hesitate to call and they would come out immediately. We couldn't be happier.

I bought a house from a guy in May of 11 that had the bathtub re glazed in January (of 11.) The glazing started coming off in June. I found a service order and attempted to contact them to have it fixed. Three weeks of phone tag led to an eventual visit (once at the wrong time that I had specified) by the "manager" that spent 30 seconds looking at it and then leaving my home.



Follow up with another phone tag call (because they DO NOT return calls) led me to discover that it'd charge me anywhere between 75 and 250 dollars to fix thier screw up. I wanted to know why it had come off after only 6 months of being applied. She said I was using the wrong cleaner, I wasn't using their own brand of cleaner. I would also be charged because I wasn't the original owner and I hadn't bought a warranty.



Attempting to speak to the "manager" that had visited my house and left his business card led me to speak to the same person that had told me how much it'd cost me. All she kept repeating was how much it'd cost, etc. with no real sense of care or quality of they work that they do.



Did I mention the job they did led to a slippery bottom? I've almost fallen out of this tub countless times.



NEVER EVER use this crooked company. They have poor quality, poor customer service and way too many terms and conditions to cover their rear end when their poor product eventually fails. Given the fact that I'm now the second person to rate this company with the same poor review, it's not surprising. I hope they go out of business and soon.

They do exceptional work. I have a house built in the 1950's with tile on the floor and up the wall. They came in and reglazed the entire bathroom. It's all sparkling white and looks brand new! It was a very cost effective way to change the look of my bathroom. You can choose from any color too. They told me they could even reglaze my kitchen appliances. I would highly recommend Unique Refinishers to everyone!
