I am a professional contractor and I will no longer do any business with Pace drywall. The first time I used them the hangers were unprofessional and only one of them spoke English and that was very limited. They were very sloppy when using the rotozip to cut out for boxes and that caused the electrician to do many repairs later. They would in their limited English joke that the finishers would fix it. The finishers other then having to clean out every electrical box from dried mud weren't all that bad when they finished. The sanding crew however, over sanded some areas and missed other areas completely. Each crew were different and the language issue was present on all of them. A couple of months later I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and let them try again. Boy was that ever a bad choice! All different crews, and only the primer touch-up crew spoke English as their primary language, the language issue was again a problem with all the crews except for them. I do understand there will be scrap and trash on a job but it was truly excessive. The job was about 160 sheets where as we had that plus about 10% extra delivered for the job and still we needed to order about 14 more sheets 12' long setting the job back another 3 days. N0 doubt in my mind they destroyed sheets to make the board count go up to make more money. not to mention they did not even do one of the archways they were supposed to do leaving it for me to take care of while the mud guy was working. The finisher left quite a bit to be desired. He was told many times there was going to be no crown molding installed to make sure those joint were completed. He did the tape joint but no finish coats leaving it for someone else. Once again the sanders had issues. The paper itself was ripped thru in many areas requiring repairs The primer touch-up crew were a savings grace of sorts. They did the rest of the finish coats on the tape joints setting back the painters another 3 days. They returned after the primer went up to fix even more areas that were missed. After base coat of paint went up it was obvious as the sunlight would come thru the windows there were major issues with the tape joints and nail holes. Without exaggeration 75% of all studs and trusses could be located by just looking. I had office reps come out to the job they acknowledged the issue and assured me someone would call. That never happened. My painters and I spent quite a while to fix what they didn't. I do not mind at all paying top dollar for top work but paying top dollar for substandard work will put me out of business. I contacted the office to see if there would be any type of recompense for the extra time and labor I had to put into what I was paying them for and basically they told me no and that I should pay them more to skim coat all wall on the next job. I then told them there will be no next time and I was terminating my business relationship with them.
