I was hoping my car just needed some Freon but Ron called me back saying it was the compressor and it would be$500.I called around&price checked them&decided to let Ron do the work. When I called back Ron informed me that he quoted it wrong&it should have been more like $800.He was a man of his word &honored the $500 price.I let him put the compressor in.A week or so later the AC system wasn't working well.So I called Ron back up&told him the issue. He told me to bring it back in&let him look.I took it to him&he told me that the compressor was faulty&was leaking Freon. He said it was still under warranty&he could replace it with another one.So I took him the car again &he put in another compressor. The AC was still not working properly. It never would cool down. I called Ron back&you could tell that Ron was a little irritated during that 3rd call but he told me to bring it back in. The third time Ron informed me that a line was now leaking Freon&that it was my responsibility to fix it. He called me back 2 days later& informed me that it was going to be just under $400 for the line.I asked if there could be some sort of discount on his labor for missing this problem. He then got a little upset&said he would not discount any labor. He said that I had received a "deal" at the first because I told him the wrong engine which in turn made him misquote the compressor cost. That was a bold faced lie&he was calling his customer a liar because I never did such a thing. He was the one who looked at the engine&then didn't quote the repair correctly.I called another mechanic&got him to look at my problem. It took this new mechanic 30 minutes to diagnose the problem &fix the AC system. All he did was let some Freon out of the car because it was over pressurized.$20&the car was fixed.I was so glad that I didn't give Ron any more money&it seems as if Ron lied to me about the line leaking. The new mechanic said there was no leak.If you have AC problems do not go to Big Ron's.

I wanted to tell of my experience with Big Ron's so that it may be helpful to someone who doesn't know anything about this business and who wants to give it a try. My experience is that they are not very good with AC repair. I took my car to Big Ron's because my AC was not cooling and I was hopeful that it was just needing some Freon. Well that was not the case and Ron called me back saying it was the compressor and that it would be about $500. Naturally, I called around and price checked them and decided to let Ron do the work. When I called back Ron informed me that his initial quote was wrong and it should have been more like $800. Fortunately, he was a man of his word (at least initially) and honored the $500 price. So I let him put the compressor in. A week or so later the AC system wasn't working well. It seemed like it was just blowing air. So I called Ron back up and told him the issue. He told me to bring it back in and let him take a look. So I took it to him and he told me that the compressor was faulty and was now leaking Freon. He said it was still under warranty and said he could replace it with another one. So I took him the car again a few days later and he put in another compressor. I picked up the car and drove it for another week or so. Well guess what? It was still not working properly. It never would cool down even after driving it for over an hour. I dreaded calling Ron back the third time but I decided it needed to be done because my car was still not right. You could tell that Ron was a little irritated during that 3rd call but he told me to bring it back in. Now keep this in mind I was having to take off work every time I had the car checked or worked on (which is normal) but having to take it back to him 3 times was a little excessive. The third time Ron informed me that a line was now leaking Freon and that it was my responsibility to fix it. So according to Ron, this line had been leaking before he had worked on the car yet he never saw this problem until the 3rd time. He said he would call me and let me know what it would cost. He never called back that day and so I called around 3:30 and left a message (this was on a Friday). He did call back the following Monday and informed me that it was going to be just under $400 for the line replacement. I was a little irritated with the fact that he had the car apart 2x and never even checked for this line so I asked if there could be some sort of discount on his labor for missing this problem. He then got a little upset and said he would not discount any labor. He proceeded to tell me that I had received a "deal" at the first because I told him the wrong engine which in turn made him misquote the compressor cost. That was a bold faced lie and he was calling his customer a liar because I never did such a thing. I took my car in for freon and he told me that the compressor was bad. He was the one who looked at the engine and then didn't quote the repair correctly. So after that I was basically done with Big Ron's. I called another mechanic and got him to look at my problem. It took this new mechanic 30 minutes to diagnose the problem and fix the AC system. All he did was let some Freon out of the car because it was over pressurized. So 30 minutes, 10 pounds of Freon, and $20 and the car was fixed. I was so glad that I didn't give Ron any more money and it seems as if Ron lied to me about the line leaking. The new mechanic said there was no leak and if there had been the pressure would have been way down. Instead it was over pressurized. If you have AC problems do not go to Big Ron's. He may be good at other stuff but he is not good at fixing air conditioners and treating his customers with the respect they deserve. I feel like it got to a point where Ron was just mad at me and wanting to recoup some of his money in which he lost on the front end not quoting the right repair cost.

Absolutely the fairest & best place you could take your vehicle for repair. They fixed my car the same day I brought it in. Very honest with very fair prices. Good job.
