This is an exceptional music store, especially if you have an interest in stringed instruments. The space is smaller than some stores but the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The staff in the shop is always courteous and attentive. There is no pressure. There is no snobbery. There is a deep love of music and a genuine wish to assist music lovers of all levels with their needs. I love this store. They have an excellent rent to own program. All of the instruments are built with quality in mind. The rental agreement covers maintenance and replacement if need be, which brings a peace of mind. After having negative experiences at other music stores, finding the Golden Music Center was like finding an oasis in the desert.

When I was in HS in Evergreen CO, I was sent here to get my violin repaired. At first it was just a small little business with two people running the store and a person to do repairs. Mike was great (RIP), he helped me with everything, including getting me a high quality German bow and a new case that would hold up to the conditions out here better. Now almost 9 years later the store is doing great and still holding true the values that the business is based on. Sadly Mike is no longer with us, but his staff and family are still holding his legacy close to their hearts. I highly recommend anyone in need of ANYTHING realting to music come here first.

Decent selection of stringed instruments, but dissappointing

Having visited the store two or three times previously, I took my 10-yr-old son there to rent a flute. Mike (owner?) had a "can't be bothered" attitude, got paranoid about the few fingerprints my son got on the flute we were planning to rent, and told us we could not rent it without signing up for PRIVATE LESSONS with Mary (his wife?) who also worked at the store. She wasn't in, so he brushed us off with "I'll have Mary call you." We left our number but Mary NEVER called. ######As a former flutist and professional cellist, I was quite put off by Mike's attitude. The store was surprisingly crowded that day but we patiently waited our turn, only to be met with the kind of attitude you'd expect from a teenager working the Burger King drive-thru on a Saturday night. Had he been friendly, helpful, and not required private lessons (what if I were a professional flutist?), we would've rented on the spot. Instead we rented from Kolacny, farther away but well worth it. They, at least, were *nic

Tucked away but everything you could want for music

They don't have any fancy thingamabobs, but they do have anything you could ask for for students taking music lessons. Convenient and unassuming

Golden Music

I love the location and the wide selection of music and classes. I do wish you still have repairs in house. I have a very old Baratone that needs some work to it but I just don't trust anyone with it. Please consider bringing back the repairs in house.
