You would have to be a fool to retain this firm for anything except a Kangaroo court. Mr. Sargeant and his employees made.multiple mistakes with our sale, done by proxy and long distance. Ultimately, his firm's oversight was directly responsible for the omission of $1100/of fees payable to us. When contacted about his firms errors, his solution was to deny, blame others, and become pugnacious. The review above about yelling is completely realistic.

I have never in my 50 years and dealings with dozens of attorneys, met anyone and unprofessional as Mr. Sargent and his employees. They represent the worst of his chosen profession and the term ambulance chaser is appropriate.

We are sorry we hired this firm and suggest, in the strongest possible manner, that you find alternative, more professional, and better representation for your needs. Caveat Emptor. You get what you pay for and this man and his firm are best placed in the discount rack.

Recommended by my realtor. I called to inquire about my closing date on 2 different occasions in the same week. I was transfer to voicemail both times. Never received a call back. I called a 3rd time in the same week finally got a real person. When I explained that I called twice and left messages both times they claimed I never called or left any messages. When I asked my other questions they were short and nasty with me. And rushed like they had other things to do and hung up on my without answering my question. I will not be recommending Sargent and Collins to anyone. For a lawyers office they do not have customer service oranners.

My experience with Sargent & Collins was positive. They represented me three times in real estate transactions for the past five years. The initial contact with Nicholas Sargent was always brief: I briefly explain my need to the secretary, Nicholas returns my call in the same business day, we speak about property and the contract and he gives me a quote. The rest of the interaction typically goes through one of the paralegals. I like that I can call, or email, or PDF, or fax. I think, overall they represented me in a professional manner, were flexible where it was necessary, and charged a very reasonable amount for the service. Prior to working with Sargent & Collins I hired a lawyer who bitterly disappointed me: on my request to process contract as fast as possible, he quietly left for 1 month vacation, required me to attend city clerk's office to pay and process documentation, and charged me almost twice as much. After that experience, working with Sargent & Collins brought a much needed relief. Can I recommend Sargent & Collins? I believe -- Yes. Lawyers are not your friends, but as long as your request is legitimate and you act professionally, I believe Sargent & Collins will treat you right.

I contacted Nick Sargent with a question and he blew up at me. When I asked him why he was yelling at me he said " I have to answer too many of these stupid questions every day." Very unprofessional, I would not recommend this place to anyone!

This business doesn't deserve any stars. We thought they were representing us when we did our refi. They helped MT bank overcharge us for points and some other services. They rushed us through the closing, including interrupting it so they could take care of another client, forgot to have us sign some of the paperwork so that my wife had to leave work a 2nd time that day, then told her they were representing both us and the bank. My fault for trusting them and signing everything they put in front of me and not reviewing the numbers in time to back out, but still a scam that cost us a lot of extra $$$. Next time will spend the extra $$ to have someone represent us. Will never do business with them or M&T again.



UPDATE: Our financial adviser came to our rescue yesterday and managed to get M&T to honor their verbal agreements with us. It looks like we will not be losing any extra $$$, no thanks to this law firm. My feelings about Sargent and Collins and M&T have not changed. They are still not worth doing business with.



2nd UPDATE: Apparently Sargent and Collins called my home insurance company and told them that M&T would be paying my premiums from an escrow account. That wasn't part of the mortgage agreement and there was no escrow account. My home insurance company cancelled my policy for lack of payment. Thanks again to Sargent and Collins!!! What a bunch of idiots.

That Sargent and Collins is a great place if you need someone to assist you in scamming an old lady. Recently a 92-year old lady, who 3 specialists confirms that she was not compitent, went into Sargent and Collins office, with a realtor from Hunt Realty. That realtor assisted her son in scamming that 92-year old lady out of a huge piece of her land, so her son can profit. This 92-year old lady, who was clearly incompitant, being she was selling her front lawn for 1 buck, had no family with her or no representation from a lawyer. Apparently, Sargent and Collins thought that this seems on the up and up, because why wouldnt a 92-year old lady want to sell her front lawn for a dollar. Now the family members are screwed and the neighbors, Sargent and collins let by the property, are holding the property hostage and the family cannot sell the property. Good job Sargent and Collins. Hopefully you guys watch the channel 4 news. there will be a big broadcast about this case in the coming months.
