This doctor is so dedicated to the children he works with. I was so impressed with the time he took with my grandkids to make sure they were safe and their needs were understood. He talked to their teachers and counselors and everything to get them the help they needed. Then he wrote a report to the judge to make sure they stayed safe. He has a very hard job but he really made sure everything went the right way in court. Great person!

My daughter and I were trying to get my grandchildren out of foster care. Court sent me to Dr Nathanson for testing...I thought he was going to ask a few questions....instead I was given a battery of puzzles and colored squares which were horrible each one worse than the other and he decided I was in early stages of Alzheimers....it detained my grandchildren from getting out of the system...I was tested by my own physician and he said it wasn't true, but the court wouldn't except my Dr results. The children were place with my daughter because of this Dr testing and they were with her for 6 mos because of my daughter s instability. My grandchildren went thru he'll because of him.

When Dr. Nathanson met with me, he was honest and kind. He is a very good listener and got down on the floor to really connect with my kids. They're 4 and 6. They loved him and he was able to help them more than all the lawyers and judges we've been to so far. He was fair and reasonable with all of us. He said he didn't want to add stress to an already stressful situation and he really meant it. I'm thankful for his time and effort.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR. I will show you accurate documentation that this therapist is not acting in the best interest of your children. In the court order he is not supposed to speak with the law guardian but, he speaks with them and then sides with them!He sided with my ex in another. The father who did not see th in years my son ended I with his head smashed they a wall

This doctor should be famous for the work he does for abused and neglected children. He is all about protecting kids and helped us adopt ours. He is a local hero and treasure.

Dr. Nathanson was wonderful to work with. Professional, polite, and extremely dedicated. I am not the type to write reviews but given the hard work and many disgruntled people at family court I thought I better help spread the good word. I honestly thought there would be more negative reviews just because Dr. Nathanson has to face some really seedy folks like child abusers and pedophiles and help protect children from their own parents. I don't usually write reviews online but I just have to say that Dr. Nathanson did such a great job helping my kids. They have talked to a lot of people since all the problems started and they both said he was the nicest and easiest to talk to and he really made them feel like they had a voice. I didn't get to read his report but the lawyers said that it was excellent and I know he helped the case to settle. I'd give ten stars if I could!

I have Bipolar Disorder and Dr. Nathanson helped me to understand that and linked me up with my doctors. It was a rough road and CPS took my baby and I was going down a bad road. I would've given up or wound up dead. Now I have my baby back and Dr. Nathanson helped CPS and the judge understand that I can be okay as long as I take medicine. I feel so much better and have my life back all thanks to this wonderful doctor.

If you want to know how good Dr. Nathanson is, you can just ask literally any lawyer or judge in Western New York. His evaluations are legendary and he is extremely thorough and competent. He is also very kind and down-to-earth. Unlike most of the other psychologists that work in family court, he'd never tell you how much he is valued and respected. Most of the reviews on this page are spot-on. I honestly expected to see a few more from the disgruntled parents that would rather blame him than look in the mirror. Dr. Nathanson takes cases from Child Protection and has to stand up to parents who are pedophiles and child abusers so take the negatives with a grain of salt. He is absolutely the best!

Dr. Nathanson was so helpful and kind to my entire family. Even though he has such an important job and is the number one person the courts rely on to figure out what's going on with families, he isn't snobby and doesn't talk down to people. He is really nice and down-to-earth. His evaluation really helped to fix things and now I know why all the lawyers on my case said he is the gold standard for psychologists in WNY. Great guy who works hard and really wants to help!

Dr. Nathanson helped my family more than all the other judges, lawyers, psychologists and social workers combined. My ex and I have been in court for years, pretty much since our kids were born! Finally, our case is resolved and my kids might get some peace and it ended without even needing a trial because his work was so thorough and there was no way my ex could play his games with the doctor because he'd see right through it. We had three custody evaluations before we met Dr. Nathanson and they were all so weak and wishy-washy! And no one came close to putting in the time and energy that he did. Wish we would have met him earlier and not wasted so much time and money on the others. This is the best psychologist in Buffalo!

So glad we met Dr. Nathanson. The judge in our case recommended him and said he was the best! He was great. Smart guy but also just nice and genuine, not arrogant like a lot of doctors. My kids really liked working with him too and they're hard to please as far as counselors go. I wish everyone on this planet was as focused, committed and hard-working as Dr. Nathanson. We'd all be so much better off.

Dr. Nathanson put an unbelievable amount of work into my case. He really figured things out and helped us to settle our case. He is a very nice man and my daughter really liked him too. He's a very good psychologist who is honest and committed to helping kids. I'm so grateful for everything he did to help us!
