I have eaten at Copper pig and love it . it is the best place around you think you are on the beach when you are their it has a panama city atsophmere... it is not nearly as advertised as it should be.. there could be a few quirps fixed but if the owners were aware of them this place would be booming.. I would like to talk with the owners... But I would tell any one to go there.and if you have children or a pet you would welcome pets have a special bowl and place to eat and children would love the alligators and they are will fenced in.

Today, Saturday Aug. 30, 2014, my husband and I decided to stop in and have lunch at The Copper Pig BBQ restaurant. We arrived at approximately 3:45pm and were informed by the waitress and another employee that we were too late to dine from the buffet bar (which actually ends at 4pm and dinner begins). The waitress told us we would have to pay $21 to partake in the buffet instead of the lunch price of $11.95. When we said we would leave and go elsewhere, the tune changed and we were offered the lunch price.

Thankfully, we didn't have to pay the price of dinner buffet because the food was close to disgusting. The macaroni noodles were still very firm, the corn on the cob in the Low Country Boil was raw, hard and uncooked. Also, the LCB had no seasoning in it and was bland. I took a bite from each item I had on my plate and I was done! With that being said, my husband is a large man (not obese), 6'4 and 290lbs and loves to eat...he sampled his first plate and decided to return to the bar since "fresh" food was being put out. Upon tasting the different varieties, he looked and me and said..."what a waste of money!" After ten years of marriage, I have never heard my husband complain about any food...nothing!

We left the Copper Pig BBQ restaurant, hungry, disappointed and in total agreement we will never return. Within about thirty minutes of departing, I became very ill and nauseated. It took three hours before I could actually sit up and not heave at the mere thought of BBQ.

I actually asked our waitress before we left how business has been since they have been open for well over a month. Her response was, "after the first two/three weeks, business fell off to almost nothing and they are trying to tweak the food and recipes to see if they can get people back in to dine." RED FLAG!! If people aren't returning after their first experience, here's your sign!!

Prior to my early retirement I owned and operated several business' for over 25 years, I know how difficult it is to get a business going and become profitable. I don't relish in leaving negative reviews but on a scale of 1-10, this place rates a low 2. Very disappointed.

Kudos for offering "live alligators" to view but locals aren't impressed as they are as common as armadillos in this neck of Georgia. Jim and I didn't waste our time walking around the premises as we came to eat good food, not look at reptiles or swing on swings.
