While the food at this new restaurant is decent, my first (and probably only) visit was ruined by the actions of a rude Maitre'De. I first sensed an unnecessary air of superiority from this gentleman when I approached him. I stated that I had a reservation (gave my name, etc.) of which he seemed aware. He replied "yes, a table outside". This restaurant has two outside areas: a pretty courtyard in back and a small terrace in front, near a parking lot. I explicitly made reservations for the courtyard and actually confirmed them with an in peron visit that week. Yet, I was escorted to the front porch. I nicely mentioned that we intended to sit in the courtyard, at which point the Maitre'De replied "sorry, those tables are reserved". I said "yes, I know, I am one of those reservations". He replied "how unfortunate, they are all taken". First, a reservation should ensure there is one available, and also, 90% of the courtyard tables were empty at that time. So in the interest of keeping things polite, we sat in the front near the parking, noise, etc. I wasn't offered an explanation or some type of compensation (such as.... sorry we screwed this up, please have an appetizer on on). I suspect courtyard and all other tables will be readily available to all because the rudeness will keep customers away.
