Raminder Parihar, MD, is Attending Physician at Montefiore and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on the use of deep brain stimulation for the treatment of movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia.After receiving her Bachelor of Science in biomed from the City College of New York in 2007, Dr. Parihar attended Stony Brook University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2009. She began her postdoctoral training at Montefiore, first completing a year-long medicine internship in 2010, followed by a three-year neurology residency in 2013, taking on the role of chief resident in her final year. She then pursued a year-long fellowship in movement disorders at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, completing it in 2014.Dr. Parihar’s research interests focus on using gait disorders, as they relate to particular movement disorders, to predict cognitive decline. Her work has been shared through abstract presentations, book chapters and manuscripts.Dr. Parihar is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Movement Disorders Society and the American Medical Association.
