I was at the Amsterdam Avenue location which is the new store recently opened in Manhattan. I went in to buy a shower price at $24.98. When I got to the register the employee told me it was actually $32. now I've worked in retail my entire life, and I know that you don't pull a bait-and-switch on your customers. If the item is priced at $24.98 then that is what you sell it for. If this is a mistake then after the customer leaves you reprice all the rest of the items with the correct price. Instead this employee wanted to argue with me. He refused to give me the sticker price, he refused to let me speak to the manager and aside from his unaccommodating demeanor he actually told me I should go ahead and buy it at Walmart if I didn't want to pay his price. I will never shop here again. I'm all about supporting local businesses and thought I would shop here because they were new and I wanted to support the local business. There are two other very reputable hardware stores within a few short blocks in the neighborhood. I have always supported them but chose to try to give my support to this new business. I would advise anyone not to shop here! Aside from their Shady business practices of marking an item at one price and trying to charge you another, the customer service is horrible. I would have fired that guy if he works for me. Instead he chose that it was worth a $6 difference to lose a customer. Shop anywhere else but here. This is not a reputable business with reputable business practices.
