Wish we would have seen the reviews before we drove all the way from Salt Lake to Brigham City. Kevin was the issue for us also. He didn't show up. When we called the number on the building they had no idea there was supposed to be a tasting. He did call to apologize however that cannot make up for our wasted time.

It was wonderful meeting you and your family. You have a great young man as a son I could tell and feel his sweet sweet spirit.

In order to fully get my point across, I need to start with a short summary of what I went through before going to The Cottage. Being just twenty years old and having a longer engagement than most, a lot of people and vendors refused to deal with me. I felt like I wasn’t being treated fairly as a customer and soon to be bride. This put a real damper on my wedding planning experience and when I found a nice vendor that would actually sit down with me and help me get what I wanted, I jumped at the experience. Unfortunately, my experience with them turned out to not be so great either. They tried to be sneaky and pull a few fast ones on us. I don’t work with people like that and it made me very sad to know that people were going to be unprofessional and impolite to my soon to be husband and myself.

After those experiences, I did sort of give up on wedding planners and vendors. My mother didn’t and that’s when we spoke to Kevin and his crew at the cottage. I was a little gun shy at first but he sat down with us many times and helped us plan out exactly what we wanted to the very small details. He gave us a very fair price and was hospitable in every way. I found Kevin to be delightful to work with and just sarcastic enough to make things interesting. I found myself teasing and joking with him and that put my mind at ease with the whole situation.

After we were given the contract and were well on our way to the actual wedding, I found myself going crazy like any bride does. I would remember little things all day and all night. Lucky for me, I could text Kevin at almost any time, respecting his sleep schedule of course, and he would get right back to me with an answer or a fix to any problem I was having. He was always so great to deal with my harassing him at all hours and making sure I always knew what was going on. I really appreciated that.

As wedding day came, Kevin was everywhere. Things were set up just how I wanted, and discounting a glitch or two, he was on the ball. He managed to wrangle all the guests and get the wedding party all situated and in place. He did everything I asked and everything looked great. I was more than happy to walk down the aisle at The Cottage knowing I had nothing to worry about. If I had to do it all over again, I would go to The Cottage first. They have my trust and I know that I wouldn’t have any problems. Great service, great food, great party.

The only suggestion I would give would be just to make sure Kevin is always writing things down. He has a tough job and a lot of details in his head all day every day. Things get mixed up and information gets forgotten or lost sometimes. It’s all much easier to keep track of when it’s on paper. Thank you for everything and being so great to us every step of the way. It truly made all the difference.

This is the perfect place for a wedding or reception!!!!!

They made us feel like they had everything handled and under control, and I didn't need to worry about a single thing!

We had a horrible experience here!! If you read the rest of the reviews it will pretty much sum it up!! He only remembered 1 of our several appointments, and the one he remembered he was 25 minutes late. He said he was going to make a flower arrangement, but all he did was throw a few flowers around. Kevin is a cheat, he makes a lot of promises that sound good but none of them will come true. Save your money and choose someone that cares about their costumers!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had a wonderful wedding luncheon at The Rose Cottage! The food was yummy, the dining room was lovely, and Julie and her staff were more than accommodating. I felt like I had an extra helpful group of people on my team who wanted to make sure all of our guests were happy and comfortable. Thank you to the Christensen's for adding a perfect luncheon experience to our perfect day!

whatever you do DO NOT get married at the Cottage. Kevin is SO disorganized. I wish I read these reviews first. He was NEVER on time for ANY appointment.I had to call him, and even then sometimes he just didn't show up!! HE IS A IDIOT!

unprofessional owner. He was late to every appointment, and i had to call him, and wait around for him. Forgot what I had rented. He was so disorganized! Terrible service! Don't go here!!!

reflecting back on my wedding day I need to warn anyone thinking about using the cottage event center in brigham city! Kevin, the owner made it sound like it was going to be such a great deal. He made a lot of promises, that sounded very appealing. He told me he was going to paint the decorations before our wedding day, he said he was going to order me new sheer chair bows. He said he was going to spend time helping set up at my reception. NONE of these promises were kept. He was so disorganized, and didn't even remember what i had rented the day i went to pick them up. Also he had thrown some of the decorations in the dirt and weeds behind his cottage. He then blamed us for the damage. We didn't damage them at all! In fact, we had to clean them for the wedding. The chair sashes were NOT sheer which i had definitely told him i wanted. They were also dirty and wrinkled. He never gave us the refund he had promised because of the "damage" we caused to his decorations that were stored in the weeds. He was late to every meeting we set up, and i was STRESSED and crying the day before my wedding. PLEASE do not use their services! It will be pretty but you will be one pissed off bride the day before your wedding. Thanks KEVIN...

If I could five negatvie stars, I would. We hired The Cottage for my wedding because Kevin (the owner) promised us what we wanted and made it sound like we would be carefree and not have to worry. They were going to take care of the floral, invitations and decor, But boy was I wrong. The first meeting we had with him, he forgot and I had to call him to get him to come (red flag #1). We met with him and brought him pictures for ideas and inspiration of what I wanted (all of which was very reasonable and doable) - he promised those would be easy and he could do them with no problem. Not only is he overpriced for what he has to offer, he is very unorganized with the billing situation. My mother-in-law gave him an $800 check to go towards the balance of what we owed him. I asked him 4 times via email and phone for a receipt. He finally told me he couldn't find the check, so he would not put it towards the balance and we'd have to give him another one....my mother-in-law then looked in her bank account to find that the check had been cashed - only when I printed off a copy of the cleared check and gave it to Kevin did he put it towards the balance (red flag #3). He asked me for a picutre of what I would like my bouquet to look like, so I sent him one of fresh flowers that was simple and not anything out of the ordinary - what I got back was a bouquet made of FAKE USED flowers and leaves with mushrooms, gords, walnuts and acorns.....didn't look ANYTHING like the picture. The money we gave him had a nice budget that would be used for the flowers and this bouquet looked like it was made by my 9 yr old niece and cost $10. (red flag # 4) After telling him that I didn't like it, we met with him in person to go over the centerpieces. All I wanted was some flowers that looked nice to go in the middle of the tables.... when we got to his office, he brought out a huge bin of ugly, fake, USED flowers and proceeded to tell me he was going to make the centerpieces and boutinerre's out of those. (red flag #5) I was in tears. After I had given the cottage many many chances to prove that they were worth my money and I could trust them I had finally had it. My fiance begged me to drop him and the last straw was when I found out another bride was suing him for not delivering. (red flag #6). After we dropped him, he wouldn't even refund us all the money although we never signed a contract and he had done NOTHING for us. Completely dishonest. We hired him so we wouldn't have to stress, but we ended up being more stressed because of his unprofessionalism and tastelessness. DON'T USE THIS PLACE Oh and by the way, he forgot EVERY SINGLE meeting we had.

We made an appointment, drove a hour and no owner. Called and a child answered the phone. The owner said he had something come up and would be there in half an hour. WASTE OF TIME!
