Cumberland Group increased the premium for my homeowners insurance 200%
6 yrs ago premium was $670, now is $1500 (no claims).
Customer service does not exist.

Worst home insurance company period, been with them for more than 13 years, filed first time claim and totally denied our claim, told them in a appeal to send out second adjuster or professional engineer to thoroughly inspect again the damages but still nothing denied appeal, even providing them with some supporting docs still denial, so now tired fighting and hired an attorney.

Once you file a claim you beco...

Once you file a claim you become the enemy. They blamed the water in my basement on a sump pump even though there was no sump pump where the water came in. Still trying to get this settled. They gave me 10,000 to complete a job that is going to cost about 50,000. I have had a Pack Rat in my driveway for over a year. i do not understand why they will not do a look back to see if you ever filed a claim (i never did). You can also call the Department of Banking and Insurance in New Jersey to file a claim against them..

This is by far the worst insur...

This is by far the worst insurance company to file a claim through. It took over 2 weeks after filing claim for the adjuster to return my phone calls and then another month before he came out to assess the damage. Then he claimed he was going to have an estimate in the mail by end of following week and nothing. I gave him several more days and still nothing. Called him and he claimed it was still in review and would have something by end of week. Nothing. Called again and still NOTHING!!!!

sorry excuse for an insurance company

The only reason they got one star is because you have to give them at least that. My home has been insured by them for the last forty years. I filed a claim as a result of a house fire seventeen months ago. This is the first claim ever submitted . They still have not paid my claim. They continue to stonewall and delay. My premiums are paid on time but when it comes to paying a claim they take there good old time. If they are your insurance company you may want to consider finding a new carrier.
