American "Lack of" Pride Golf Carts

We are two disabled Veterans (he is 70, a Vietnam Veteran with 23 years in the Navy, she is 53, retired Army nurse). After he battled throat and lymph node cancer (chemotherapy & radiation both) last year and won, we decided to splurge and get the “top of the line” golf cart. Mistakenly, we believed that American Pride meant just that-Pride in America, and dedication to customer service, especially to elderly Veterans. This turned out not to be the case. On June 15, 2017, we met with Logan, who is the owner’s son. He seemed to be very professional, and quite pleasant. Although we were adamant that we wanted GAS, Logan convinced us that he could build us one that would do 30 mph, and would get 35-40 miles on a single charge. We got all of the bells and whistles available-to the tune of just a little over $12,000, TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS, which was supposed to include delivery (from Bradenton, FL to Panama City Beach, FL). We were told by Logan that this golf cart would be COMPLETED “in 6 weeks, maybe a little sooner”. On July 27, 2017 we contacted the salesman Mike who told us that “it takes at least 6 weeks for the seats, and we are waiting on other items”. That certainly is NOT what we were told earlier. Sometime during the week of August 14, we were notified that it was complete, and how did we want to “Pick it up”. After much back and forth, we decided to pay half of the transportation to get it to us. Delivery was supposed to be Aug.18. Without ANY notice, it did not show up. That evening, we contacted the transport/delivery driver and he advised he had not picked it up yet. A new delivery date was established of August 24, 2017 (TEN weeks total). They failed to send the cargo bin, cover, and padded arm rests (sent much later). Everything seemed okay, except we were only getting around 10-15 miles on a charge. On September 8, 2017, we were driving it to the store when we started smelling smoke. It smelled like burning rubber. Next thing we knew, the golf cart was driving slower, despite having the pedal to the floor. Then it quit, dead. Smoke was pouring out of the rear end. We had to get it towed- $80 that this useless company refuses to reimburse. Of course, two days later, the hurricane hit their area. We let them know that the golf cart was non-functional, but also were VERY understanding of the situation there. After much back and forth, and excessive foot dragging by these “folks”, the cart was picked up by Panama City Golf Carts on October 9, 2017. The parts to fix it were sent directly to them (Logan arranged it). Unfortunately, the controller was bad. After much ado, they finally got the correct part. Then another part was bad-none of this was PC Golf Cart’s fault- they were nothing but nice, kind, and professional despite everything. Throughout this ENTIRE ordeal, Logan, and American Pride Golf Carts did NOTHING to follow up on this situation. We had to keep going by and calling PCGC for updates that Logan should have gotten and relayed to us. They didn’t even know that the original controller was bad until we told them! Here is what Paul, the owner said when we contacted them about the l...

American “Lack of” Pride Golf Carts
Although we were adamant that we wanted GAS, Logan (owner’s son) convinced us that he could build us one that would do 30 mph, and would get 35-40 miles on a single charge (in writing). We got all of the bells and whistles available-to the tune of just a little over $12,000, TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. After we received it, we never verified the speed but did log barely 10 miles on a charge. Two weeks after delivery the motor burned up. We asked for them to take the cart back and refund our money. We finally agreed to have a local shop do repairs. Upon completion of repairs the cart still did at best 25 mph (only 22 mph consistently) and only 20 mils per charge. We again asked for them to return our money. These people may talk a good story but when it came to honoring their warranty they would not and were incredibly RUDE. Bottom line, we have a lawyer handling this for us.
SO MUCH FOR AMERICAN PRIDE
