I worked for Weeks Marine in a repairment shipyard at Bourg, LA. The bosses conduct towards employees is terrible in that particular shipyard, especially towards Hispanic people including me. In reality they don't follow the rules that OSHA stipulates and the explotation towards Hispanics is excessive which causes the employers to not perform their job funtions correctly they dont have respect for employees; the management talks bulgarly to employees. If they changes their attitude I think the company would keep more employees in the company because many people I knew in that short period of time left the company. Another suggestion I would recommend to this company is to not let the employees go under the tanks by themselves they need to go in with another person in case an accident occurs they could help out. A neccessary and a must have is water because in the work area there wasn't any water around because they weren't putting any water for employees I almost dehydrated due to this that would be another recommendation to this company in Bourg, LA. I would really like anybody to take notice or else there would be a lot of complaints regarding Weeks Marine. The employees are the ones that make the company grow and they need to feel safe and treated with respect in the work environment. Thank you for your time and consideration.
