In 1978, he founded Art's Landscaping with one employee, who is still with him, and a pick up truck, which is long gone. Art earned his Registered Landscape Architect certification in 1983. Under the leadership of its namesake, Art's Landscaping has grown into a household name in KankakeeCounty, serving thousands of happy customers. Barb Mantoan Barb joined her husband Art and the team at Art's Landscaping in 1990 as the office manager, and is now the Executive Director. She is a Life Member and past President of Kankakee Kultivators Garden Club, has been named "Volunteer of the Year" for her environmental activism by the Junior League of Kankakee County, and as been on the board of both the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra Women's Board and the Hospice of Kankakee Valley. Mary Jones Mary Jones graduated from the Horticulture program at Joliet Junior College in 2002, after interning at Art's Landscaping in 2001. She returned to the company upon graduation, and specializes in sales, estimating and landscape design. David Cook David Cook has a B.A. in Art from OlivetNazareneUniversity and has spent 17 years in ornamental horticulture as a landscape designer. He joined Art's Landscaping in 2000.
