At the foot of the mountain lies the Silver Saddle Motel. We personally loved the whole experience. We had been looking for a comfortable motel in Boulder, and found out that the Boulder Mountain Lodge was FULL of drunks, so late in the afternoon we stopped at another motel down the street from the Silver Saddle, in which we found the onwer very rude and unpleasant. Disapointed by the 2 previous motels, we pulled into the Silver Saddle. After reading all the other reviews, I was amazed that the guests could be so cruel. All the horrid that they were describing made the rooms we had stayed in look like total heaven. The bathrooms were clean, the beds and linens were comfy, and the floors were spotless. And to tell you the truth, there are barely any crimes whatsoever in Boulder, but that extra chain that you had to wrap around the door nob, gave a great amount of extra security to our room.

The staff was exceptionally hospitable. They provided anything we asked for from extra towels to directions around town. The location couldn't be better for enjoying all Boulder has to offer from the CU campus to downtown to easy walks and super hikes. The motel was recommended to us by a family member who stayed there in May and was happy and our stay in October was wonderful.

We were going to Boulder to pick up a new puppy from the breeder. The trip was last minute and we weren't able to get a reservation anyplace in Boulder, so we knew we were in for a struggle. We pulled into the Silver Saddle about 7:30 PM and they were full. The owner made many calls trying to find a place for us elsewhere in town, but everyplace else in Boulder, Longmont was full, too. What to do.... Before we left we asked if they had anyplace we could sleep, even a foam pad in the parking lot! The owner allowed that they had a room that was being remodeled, but it didn't have a microwave; he'd give it to us for a discount. We were ecstatic. The room was basic, comfortable and clean. No complaints there. (I've never used a microwave in a motel room, so *that* didn't bother me :-). Bottom line - I'd stay at the Silver Saddle again in a heartbeat. It is not a fancy place, the rooms aren't as 'nice' as fancy places, but the people who own it are wonderful (and have a great dog!).

Silver Saddle is an inexpensive alternative for Boulder, CO. Its clean and the proprietor is very friendly. Wonderful views of the foothills. This motel lies right on the Boulder Creek path. During the "heat wave" last week, I was able to walk to the Boulder Creek and splash around. You can walk the path about 1/2 mile to the outstanding Boulder library, and into Boulder and the Pearl Street Mall. Take a cab back in the evening, there's a cab stand at Pearl street and Walnut.

I've stayed here multiple times, including a *one year* stay in one of the private cabins ( #15 - shown in the photo). As mentioned in other reviews, the facility is a bit dated, but the ownership was upgrading the entire time I stayed there (with no inconvenience to guests). The staff is superb. They truly care about the comfort of their guests and will go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is better than you expected. Stay long enough and you'll make friends that will have you coming back time and again. Best of all you are right at the mouth of Boulder Canyon. Located next to the Boulder Creek Path for exercising or scenic meandering. A short walk puts you right on Pearl Street Mall or a short car/bike ride and you are on The Hill or CU campus. A day trip up to Nederland and over to Rocky Mountain National Park will fill up your video camera with astounding views and great memories. Possibly the best, reasonably priced, location in all of Boulder.

Silver Saddle is amazing! Stay there if you can! The cabins are quaint-- not the cookie-cutter type of room you get at every other hotel. The price is right for the amenities available. We got the unit with a kitchenette and a carport-- both of which we happily utilized. The location is great-- right on the edge of Boulder Canyon and downtown Boulder. The only complaints we had were a few tiny ants wandering around the cabin, but really, what is camping without ants? If you can't take a little bit of rustic with your hotel, this isn't the place for you. For those of you that can, you won't regret it!

I stayed at the Silver Saddle Motel from July 4th-10th with a friend of mine. Over the years I have visited Boulder during the summer several times and stayed at many of the fine lodges. However, had I known about The Silver Saddle Motel before now, it would have been the place I stayed every time. I happened to spot the Silver Saddle when I biked up the canyon on the Boulder biking/walking path last year, and was struck by the funky neon signage and adorable cabins and decided to try it out this year. To start off, I am confident that the Silver Saddle has the absolutely best location in town. Beautiful mountain views all around and you could fall asleep to the sounds of a roaring river if you open your window in the evening. It's still super close to the Pearl Street Mall and the main city biking/walking trail ran right in front of the motel, so my friend and I biked the entire time we were there and didn't drive once.

We had an occasion to stay at the Silver Saddle Motel in Boulder, Colorado, recently and found it to be rustic, charming and in a wonderful location, within walking distance of the downtown and Pearl Street, but removed from the hustle and bustle. It is right along Boulder Creek and you can walk right out your door and be fly fishing in minutes. The owners were very sweet and helpful, our room (actually it had two bedrooms) was clean, spacious and comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay very much. We would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for that retro experience of days gone by.

This was the greatest little motel. Boulder Creek is right in front and the locale is beautiful. The two room suite was a very nice surprise. Parents in one room and graduating teen in another. If you go to Boulder, CO, try this place. You can't lose. Excellent value, close to Pearl Street for restuarants and shops, very friendly and courteous staff and views that have all the value motels in Boulder beat by a mile.

I travel for work mostly, and the biggest issue I have is how hard it is to sleep. Most motels/hotels are just so noisy, but the Silver Saddle is an oasis of peace. Located near a rushing stream, the only thing to hear at night is the water and morning birds, with traffic noise a vague and non-intrusive sound. Each of the cabins is separated by a car port, so you can't hear other people.

We stayed 4 nights . The people that work there treated us like we were old friends. And for me it's all about feeling welcomed and comfortable. A real down home kind of place. The price was very reasonable. So I now I will be staying here on my next visit..
