Located in the historic Dunnkirk Square since 1984, The Upstairs Pub is one of the most iconic bars on Indiana University's campus. A favorite of students past and present, Upstairs (also called 'The Pub' by locals) has woven itself into the fabric of Bloomington lore throughout its storied history. Home of their signature drink, the AMF, the beer selection at The Pub is robust and plenty; it's brand-new kitchen serves an elevated version of 'pub grub', featuring burgers, wraps, wings and much more.Located in the historic Dunnkirk Square since 1984, The Upstairs Pub is one of the most iconic bars on Indiana University's campus. A disgraceful Bloomington establishment!

A very disappointing experience! We were insulted and disrespected by the person who gladly accepted our generous tips. The place is located in the heart of Bloomington, a town which takes pride in being known as tolerant and respectful. My husband was assaulted by a rude bar employee (of questionable authority) who refused to identify himself after yanking out a drink out of my husband's hands without warning and throwing our group in a rude and disrespectful manner. Minutes later it become obvious that this behavior has been a perpetual problem: another faithful customer has shared that the staff provides less than adequate service and that they are habitually rude to their customers.

Don't go here for a good time.

WARNING! if you do not finish your drink as quickly as the bartender expects, you will be assaulted with your own drink as they will throw it at you, regardless if you paid for it, and then they will threaten you with calling the police for trespassing...? I guess a paying customer is a trespasser nowadays. Oh, and don't bother to ask for the jerk's name, because he is too scared to tell you it after what he did because he knew he was in the wrong by throwing an object at paying customers. Being respectful to the customers (as I understand working on Kirkwood cannot be fun) is not their main concern, but they have more than crossed the line. As frequent customers we were trying to unwind on a Saturday night after working all day, we tipped our bartender every time we got drinks and we were still physically and verbally abused by the doorman that was sleeping at the bar for over an hour. We were told by other people leaving the establishment that the rude employee's name is "Wildes" or "Wyldes" and that he has an reputation for being extremely rude and disrespectful to customers but more than willing to accept our generous tips.
