Paid but utimately no service provided

Took a pair of red wing boots into Joseph's shoe repair to have the sole glued on and to have a rubber toe protector installed. The rubberized toe protector was approx. a $20 to $30 item to buy and have installed. They didn't itemize my receipt but my bill was between $50 and $60. Upon wearing my repaired and renewed boots for the first time they wore the skin off the top of my middle toe. A ridge was created inside the boot because the toe protector piece compressed the leather together to a point in which it couldn't expand. Upon returning them they suggested that they had been wet which they hadn't. For that matter they're work boots so what if they had? They tried to stretch them but that didn't work. So I returned them again and they removed the toe protector which was the largest one that’s evidently available. This situation was OK until the point of picking them up this last time, sometimes problems arise when going through life. They wouldn't refund my $ for having this specific service provided. The additional services, gluing the sole, indeed I should pay for but not for the nonexistent toe-guard. I told them I couldn't believe he was making me pay for his mistake relative to his profession and supposed expertise and the that I could not recommend them. They could have cared less. No regard for the customer or their trade or the man who built this business. BTW... I noticed that they were selling sno-seal for almost $18 a jar, you can buy the same exact thing at sportsmansguide for $4.79! There are other shoe repair businesses available in our area.

Terrible service!

I would never reccomend ths business. I took my shoes in to be polished, because they had scuffs and paint on them. Joseph told me they would be ready by Tuesday afternoon. I went in Wednesday morning and he told me he had to finish polishing them. I sat for 10 minutes while he did the job that he had 5 days to complete. Not only that, but "polishing" meant spraying some cheap dye on them and handing them to me completely wet. I will never go back.
