Building Safety, a division of the Planning and Code Enforcement Department, provides health, safety and general welfare of citizens through the professional administration and enforcement of zoning, building and other related construction and use ordinances. The Planning and Code Enforcement Department, operated by the City of Bloomington in Illinois, includes community development, code enforcement, facility management, and planning and zoning divisions. The City of Bloomington also operates fire finance, engineering, fleet management, legal, police and administration departments.
