I spoke w/ Dr. Lane 4-5 times total. She was over 30 min. late to 2 of my appointments (not bc she was dealing w/ another client.) At the end of my last session, she STILL didn't know my name or anything about me. When I met w/ Dr. Polek I was unsure of him based on what I walked away w/ vs what my issues were. I called 5 Psychs in the Bham area, & my previous Psych in Auburn- the ones that knew of Psychiatry 280 told me they had heard negative things about Dr. Polek. Medication is a SERIOUS thing & can damage your health & even be fatal if not properly researched. Luckily, I was not harmed. FINALLY when I requested my medical records after how upset I was w/ them- they denied my records 4 times, stating that it was illegal for them to give them to me bc it was a "Psychiatry Clinic". I spoke w/ an attorney who told me what my rights were according to HIPAA & informed them that it was in fact ILLEGAL for them to deny me my records. I DO NOT recommend this clinic to anyone!

That doctor is a jerk. I visited the practice as a new patient, and the receptionist needed my drivers license. Two weeks later, it was a Saturday night and I was leaving for a cruise the next day and looked in my wallet to realize that the receptionist had forgotten to give me my license back. She never gave me a call or anything to tell me that she had it in her possession. Dr. Polek had given me his personal number on his business card for emergency use, so I called him to see if there was any possibility of getting my license before I left the next day or I wouldn't be able to get through customs. Before I could even explain my situation he cut me off, said I was bothering him, said to not call back, and then he hung up on me! I ended up driving to Montgomery just to get a replacement. An hour after I got my new license, the receptionist called me and said she found my original license buried behind a stack of papers BEHIND HER COMPUTER! Will NOT be going back!

Never treated so bad in my life...was told he wasn't going to put. His neck on the line for me...I have had such a traumatic last 4 years of my life and the man didn't even want to talk to me really..very cold hearted and uninviting..I would not waste my money on this poor excuse for a Dr. If. I would even call him that...worst bed side manor I have ever experienced. I didn't know people could talk to you like crap and just take your money..I would love a refund for the maybe 10 minutes I was back there...and I promise I am a nice person with lots of respect for all...just still blows my mind I got treated this way..
