While Shelia did not seem overly hospitable on the phone, I am GLAD I did not let that influence my decision to stay with her. Our stay was amazing and the Chaffins’s are incredible hosts with an immense knowledge of Birmingham history and general historical knowledge as well. They were a pleasure to have hosting us. Would recommend to anyone in the north central Alabama area.

We were visiting our son, a student at University of Alabama Birmingham and found this charming B&B just 3 blocks from Campus. We chose the Southern Magnolia suite with its 4 poster canopy bed with lace top. Very pretty suite with its own parlor. They've been favorably reviewed in the New York Times and various magazines. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Ask Sheila or Ira to give you their receipe for Sausage Croissant Bake. We look forward to coming again when in Birmingham

My husband and I had a great week-end at Cobb Lane Bed and Breakfast, delicious breakfast, beautiful surroundings, and enjoyed fresh cookies in the parlor. We look forward to returning again and will recommend it to our friends.

I called the owner of this establishment to inquire about hosting an event there, as the website seemed to convey a very hospitable environment. I was trying to obtain some basic pricing information, and was having trouble understanding the basis for the pricing guidelines. When I asked the owner/manager to elaborate as to how much I could expect to spend and what I would receive for said price, she was EXTREMELY RUDE and short with me. Her actions and the treatment that I received was certainly not how I would want my guests to feel upon leaving an event that I would host, and I will definitely not be patronizing this establishment, nor will I suggest that anyone I know do the same.
