Located in Bettendorf, Iowa, Herbert Hoover Elementary School enrolls more than 300 students in kindergarten through grade five. It also offers special and gifted and talented education programs. The school s library stocks a variety of fiction and nonfiction books, newspapers, journals, encyclopedias, dictionaries and maps. It has a student writing center that allows children to use computers for their writing work and the decoration of book covers. The school offers a Peer Pals program in which older students help younger students with homework and social skills on a weekly basis after school hours. Its counseling service areas include anger management, parent referral, mentoring, crisis support and behavioral intervention.
