Located at Bethel, Pa., Camp Swatara is operated by the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren and is a member of the Outdoor Ministries Association of the Church of the Brethren. It is engaged in providing a range of residential camps, family camps, retreat facilities and other outdoor activities to people of ages. Camp Swatara houses different retreat sections namely East Area, North Lodge, West Area and West Retreat. The North Lodge is available for retreats during the fall, winter and spring months, providing a natural atmosphere for seminars, meetings, leadership trainings and more. The West Area is home to winterized double/single cabins and some nonwinterized cabins. In addition, the Camp Swatara offers a three-part course that includes training for several adventure games, high rope-climbing and rappelling towers. Some other attractions at the camp include boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking, golfing, bike trailing, shuffleboard and other sports.
