I would be very careful about considering this individual for taxes. I would like to share my experience with Pozzi Tax Service in Bend, Or. Please be advised, I am sharing personal experience only and am not extending some of the other rumors that I have been told so please consider this info before you consider Pozzi tax service. I was quoted 350 in 2013 to complete my taxes. At that time I had purchased rental property that year. I submitted all the necessary paperwork so Pozzi tax did not have to go looking for any documents. I also submitted a spread sheet that contained all expenses with my rentals for the year. Somehow or another the formatting was incorrect but this was an extra not required document that I submitted. All numbers were correct and all paperwork was correct. All my paperwork was submitted in plenty of time to meet the tax deadline. Before the deadline, I had called for an update on several occasions at which it was difficult to get Pozzi to call me back. I asked how we would get an extension, Pozzi said that they would get an extension for me. I asked who would pay for the extension, Pozzi indicated due to it was my fault for being late, they would pay for the extension and "take care of me". I received an email on 4 June with my completed return and a bill for $700 plus. It appears that because he was able to get a significant amount of more money back for me tax wise then he thought, he would took the liberty of charging me over twice my original estimate. When asked about this, he indicated my return took more work and had to get more info and it also required more phone interaction. I provided more than enough documentation and maybe too much. We spent approximately 1 hr total on the phone during this time part of which was reminding him the date that I sent supporting information so he could look it up in his email and talking about the fire and his family. This would not be such a big issue with me had I known before hand or he communicated with me the difficulty in the return before it was completed but instead, he waited till beyond the last minute and never communicated with me the "difficulty" of the return. I could understand being off maybe $50-$75 if the return was completed on time but charging two times the original calculated quote, being late by almost two months, and not communicating why is simply unacceptable. After I received the tax documents, I consulted another tax preparer who said the return should have been about $350-$375. Since this has occurred, Pozzi had the nerve to send me a letter offering his service and informing me that he would offer me a $35 discount this year. I guess he did "PAY FOR THE TAX EXTENSION" in April 2013. Thank you My Pozzi. If anyone interested in hearing more of my experience, I will welcome the phone call. See contact info.
