MDDA-Boston, now known as DBSA-Boston, is a nonprofit, self-help organization that is run by and for people with affective disorders, such as depression and bipolar and schizoaffective disorders. The organization offers a range of support groups for people with affective disorders and their friends and families. DBSA-Boston also provides groups that discuss spiritual issues, including religious upbringing and psychiatric medical model. Its depression group provides an opportunity for members to share feelings and experiences regarding living with depression. The organization offers opportunities to discuss about jobs, relationships, stigma and fitting through its young adults group. In addition, it provides discounts for members on facilitator training sessions. DBSA-Boston is located in Belmont, Mass.
