I first found this place 3 years ago while visiting my sister. At that time we both referred to it as the best kept secret in the valley. I'm not sure how they do it so much better than any other thrift I've been to but this visit they absolutely blew me away. This store is tightly organized, well categorized and stocked with such great 2nd hand merchandise that it feels more like an upscale consignment store. I'm from Seattle and we fhave some good thrift's but Basalt Thrift is on a whole new level. I shopped it 3 different days in 2 weeks and each time there was fresh merchandise to choose from. Even the owners rock. Julia Pratt will bend over backwards to help you and her husband's dry humor is hilarious. By far the best thrift store in the valley!

This is, hands down, the best thrift store in the area. In fact, it beats most of the consignment stores that I have visited. Whenever I come up from Phoenix for business I always stop in at Basalt Thrift.
