Sadly, McMae's didn't live up to our hopeful expectations. VERY sadly as Bartlett could use a nice eatery aside from the gozillion pizza joints. The appearance is lovely, cozy and the server was friendly and attentive. We SPECIFICALLY went for the "Friday Fish Fry." We ordered fried pickles which were very good, well prepared and served with 2 dips so this, again, made us hopeful. When we received the cod, we could tell immediately by the TRIANGULAR cut that it was "prepped" outside of the restaurant. We could also tell that it had been frozen as there was the usual MUSH between the breading and the fish (which was also mushy).

If you can't serve GREAT fish, don't serve fish at all.

We will not even go back to try anything else.

The food is yummy! We have eaten here twice now and everything we have ordered has been great! Besides the great food the wait staff is just super friendly and helpful. They are doing something right at McMae's! My only suggestion is to quiet the tv's a bit, it was a little loud for our conversation. But the food and service made up for the loud tv's!
