The Empowerment Academy serves more than 150 students in pre-kindergarten through grade six. The academy s core curriculum includes reading, math, science, social studies, technology and health education. Its art department includes visual arts, drama, dance, and vocal and instrumental music. The Empowerment Academy s character education program helps to develop trustworthiness, responsibility and respect in students. The academy specializes in after-school academic and cultural enrichment programs. Its parent-teacher association organizes several family activities, field trips, seminars and workshops. The Empowerment Academy has partnerships with the Family League of Baltimore, Baltimore Museum of Art, Goucher University and Johns Hopkins University. Located in Baltimore, the academy is a part of Baltimore City Public Schools.
