Second Amendment Sports is a first class sporting goods store with a wide variety of products and a large inventory of both long guns (rifles and shotguns), and handguns. Many members of the sales staff and their administrative group have work in the firearms and sporting goods business for years and they have solid expertise in many of these related disciplines. I find their products very reasonably priced and competitive with a lot of "finds" on the internet. They also have a first class cadre of personnel highly qualified in all aspects of firearms training and other martial arts. The total operation of Second Amendment Sports is first class.

People that work there are complete snobs! They don't smile, they really aren't knowledgeable, and they talk down to you. I asked if they carried a certain product for my gun and they said no. I walked over about 10 feet away and there it was in plain sight. Not just one but 20 of them! What's up with that. Some one commented that they asked for a product and worker said no, then some one else asked and they were told yes. This company gots the product but the people and process are broken. Get it together guys.

I decided to stop here after years of avoiding this place from prior bad experiences just to find NOTHING has changed.

The majority of the staff here are rude (especially towards the female gender), uneducated in the equipment, ammo and arms they sell, and uneducated in the laws governing the sales of firearms and other equipment. I've seen shady business practices (waving dross fees for some people) and poor sales tactics (pretending not to have ammo and equipment in stock for certain people, and within seconds selling the same asked for item to someone else). Avoid this store if you have any common sense.

Chose them to install some night sights on my HK usp. Asked about re-bluing services as well (didn't know it had a specialized finish and bluing cldnt be done) they said it would be $165 for everything and it wld take about 2 weeks. 3 weeks of not hearing from them I called, they said it was in AZ at their other shop and its busy so 2 more weeks. 3 weeks go by, I find out it never left shop in Bakersfield. I was promised it would be overnighted to AZ to get worked on, it wasn't for another week to 2 weeks! After a total of 10-11 weeks I got it back (no bluing but with a decent reason), I was told they wouldn't charge me for the bluing (obviously, so $100 was taken off since they didn't perform the service) I was told to pay for install of sights at $65 (actual normal cost) I asked for some kind of discount like 10% as a gesture of good will since they had it for so long and couldn't blue. I was told NO! They said $65 and you get nothing since they can't do anything about the inconvenience, even if I was lied to at first about where my gun was (it was thrown somewhere in the back of their store and misplaced for several weeks! I told them I would Never do business there and I would tell everyone I knew about how tore up they were, bad bad bad customer service! I go now to see a gun I may be interested in (they got a good selection) then I go buy what I want from Valley Gun cause they are always NICE over there!!! NEVER treat a man's HK like dirt, keep it for 11 weeks and refuse to apologize. Taking $6 bucks off would've been more than fair, they should of did it for free at that point or taken 50% off since they lied. Those people all think they are so smart and try to upsell people on budgets too! 3 times I have been there and they've clowned new customers about what they first asked to look at. They are always saying 9mm aren't good for defense (especially the low budget ones people may first look at), these people act like they don't want people's business, like gun snobs! First rule of business is TO BE NICE TO THOSE PAYING YOUR BILLS!

The worst shop ever

I go down to the gun store after I get off work today to pick up my handguns. The DROS is complete and the 10 days is up.

I sit down, the girl that signs them out gets out my paperwork, gets my handguns which are handed to me and i am looking at....then she says hold on I need authorization to sign these out since they said they were holding them till payment was received.....the floor manager decides he cannot release them to me till he talks to the head general manager who isn't working and "they cant get a hold of"...they call the 2nd in command manager and he says "just hold his guns till I talk to the head manager this weekend etc" and they tell me to come back next week to pick them up.......

At this point I inform them that DROS is finished, Penal codes requires their release to me, if they aren't released i am reporting them stolen and calling the sheriff dept right now.

They said sorry there is nothing they can do, So I call the sheriff's dept to send an officer out to allow me to take my property with me. At that point I have my handguns in my hands and I am not giving them back.

While waiting for sheriff dept to show up, one guy calls the 2nd in command manager on what to do, the manager says "Cancel the DROS's immediately before the police arrive"...

So they canceled the DROS's and said "sorry now there is nothing you can do to take them home and you'll have to reDROS them and wait another 10 days or have the sellers pick them up in 2 days after they are back in their name etc....

Sheriff shows up and doesn't know much about the laws but he tells them it was a complete d1ck move to cancel the transfer because I called them and basically they had no right to hold my property over another civil matter unrelated. Also he cannot give me my firearms and they have to stay with them since the DROS is canceled and they cant be legally released now.

This person was an ex-employee who had recently been fired for causing damage to our indoor range with his personal unauthorized rifle while he was supposed to be working. He owed the shop money for items that he hadn't paid for and raised a big stink with the lady doing his firearm paperwork and started yelling and threatening her. The assistant manager told her not to take his abuse and told her to cancel his paperwork. This is just a public forum now for his bad behavior. And the lady running his paperwork called the sheriff for his threatening manerisms and the sheriff was happy to escort this bad actor off the premises. Sorry you had to read about our disgruntled past employee dirty laundry.
