Unfortunately, these days, it seems it is almost impossible to find a boat mechanic that knows what he’s doing and even harder to find an honest mechanic.



Jim Roy from Outboard Barn, Inc. falls into the same category. You need some work to be done on your boat, you agree on the price, pay ( of course in cash, none of these guys want to pay taxes), you come back to pick up your boat and the boat still has the same problems and on top of that, the owner of Outboard Barn argues with you and wants more money.



Now the job is twice the amount of money originally agreed on and, of course, you were never provided you with any written contract or estimate prior to working on the boat. This is always the way with this kind of people, no respect or common courtesy- take it or leave it.



I strongly recommend to stay away from Outboard Barn and Jim Roy if you want your boat to stay in one piece.
