I purchased a tabletop from Home Outfitters in Avon, Colorado. I paid Home Outfitters $105 to deliver the tabletop and to remove the old table for donation to The Thrifty Shop in Edwards, CO. I was instructed by Donna Lang Arenschield to put $20 on the table to be removed. The delivery team did not remove the table with the $20 on it, but instead took an antique heirloom table worth thousands. According to the thrift shop Executive Director, the table never made it to the thrift shop for donation. Home Outfitters took a very expensive table from my home and it has vanished. It could be in someone’s home, it could have been sold for profit, or it could be in a consignment store somewhere.

While this experience has been devastating and disheartening for my family, the most egregious aspect of this event is the co-owners of Home Outfitters, Nancy Rehder and Donna Lang Arenschield, refuse to take responsibility for their mistake and even went as far as attempting to shift blame and the financial burden of the loss of my table to Vail Valley Cares Thrifty Shop, a nonprofit that supports the least among us in our community.
