No stars of possible for this property it's a living nightmare!!! Roaches taking over your belongings,the appliances,pouring out of vents,fire alarms,literally they are everywhere you turn! You will end up losing money!.I think it's all because The property is badly maintained.

I can't think of a single good thing to say about Silver Springs. I had been stolen from several times while living here for 2 years: My TV, hubcaps from my car, even plants sitting outside on my patio. There were roaches, plenty of roaches to keep me company. I only heard about bedbugs but never experienced that myself.



People leave their kids outside unattended all day and they continuously run up and down the stairs in groups, while screaming and banging their toys on the railings and walls. There is trash everywhere--all over the breezeways, stairs, parking lot, and grounds. Neighbors are loud and inconsiderate, and pretty shady to boot. It's a high crime area, so the cops are here almost every night. As a female, I felt unsafe walking to my car at night, and I almost never went outside as young men were always congregating out there, trying to talk to me every time I passed by. Also, the apartment patios are accessible to everyone, and people help themselves to anything you put out there.



As another reviewer mentioned, maintenance lets themselves into the apartments without notice, and they forget to lock up when they're finished. They did this while I was out of town for two days, and I came home to find that my door was unlocked and my TV was stolen.



Parking was also horrible at night and especially during the weekends. Non-residents are only allowed to park in the outer spots by the fence. Neighbors and the management constantly watch the parking lot and report vehicles to be towed and they tow quickly, costing your guests hundreds of dollars if they weren't aware of the parking rule (no signs were posted when I lived here, either). They have tow trucks waiting in the parking lot to tow people, by the way. Due to maintenance & renovation, there is construction debris left all over the parking lot. I had two flat tires while living here, both caused by nails that had punctured the tires.



The management had been sounding off the building alarms in the early morning, and continuing to sound the alarms every 3-4 minutes over the span of an hour. This happened at least every week for a month. I called the office and was told that they were testing alarms and we'll just have to deal with it. As we were talking on the phone, the alarms sounded again and I told them (with very colorful language, I'll admit) that they could surely hear that the alarms were working.



The low rent and high square footage is what draws people in. I definitely fell for it. There are plenty of other options in North Austin, reasonably priced too. Skip this one, unless you like living in these conditions.

The apartment layout was nice and there is some storage, however you could see a lot of wall repairs that were made because of the sloppy patches etc. I guess instead of doing a good job, you just slap a heavy coat of paint and let it drip down the wall over the damage. When we first moved in there were no insects in sight and pest control was there shortly after we moved in, however a couple months after a few roaches started to appear, so I promptly reported it to the office personnel and mentioned to them that when we moved in they stated that pest control comes through once a month, and they said that I must put in a request, so I did twice! with no results, That one time was the only time I saw pest control, By the time we moved out I could literally watch one by one stroll in through the front door seal and head straight for the kitchen to visit their family that had orgies in the dishwasher. You certainly know when the neighborhood kids get home from school because they run through the halls in between apartments screaming and scraping the outside of your bedroom walls with rocks that they removed from the landscape that is supposed to help hold the mud slides from covering the side walk. During the day a lot of unemployed but industrious young men walk around selling drugs, so if you're into that, this is the place to be! The security guard is an off duty cop decked out in body armor, gun, taser gun and handcuffs and does come if you call him, which is good! Have you ever watched "COPS"? Well most weekends you get to see it live! The recreation room is a joke, the equipment is old and broken. The swimming pool gets broken glass and lawn chairs from peoples porches thrown into it. The office personnel and maintenance were mostly friendly but the manager herself is just rude! I tried not to provide just the bad points and be honest and this review is a product of that, Please find somewhere else to hang your hat unless you can just go to work, go home and hide in the apartment with the door locked with head phones on, a can of Black Flag in your hand and a gun close by.

Welcome to North Austin's secret little ghetto!! If you enjoy rambunctious, destructive, unsupervised children running up and down the hallways all day, lots of yelling, neighbors garbage all over your area then this is the place for you!!

Plenty of Police action to observe, great for the days there isn't much to watch on television!!

Do you have pets? If not there are plenty of roaches to keep you company! Nothing makes your morning more pleasant than waking up to a dishwasher full of the family you never wanted all over your nice clean dishes!

Comes complete with not only the complex security, but you will experience plenty of residents more than willing to report any and all violations, deserved or undeserved to the office personnel who will quickly respond with unreasonable fees and love notes tacked to your door.....great to know big brother is only an apartment away! One more thing, make sure all guests park against the back fence as the tow truck prowls all day and night and will not hesitate to tow a car that has even been parked in the resident parking for 2 minutes!

The only way to truly enjoy your experience here is to stay indoors!!
