How can I leave less that 1 star? Like others here, I purchased a $59 Groupon for up to 1,500 sf of carpet cleaning. The technician tried to tell my wife that we had more than 3 rooms and that she needed to read the fine print. She handed him the Groupon and asked him to show her where it said that a number of rooms was a factor. He looked and found nothing, but told her that it should be on there. He told her that he would need to charge us over $100 more for the service. My wife called me at work and I called and spoke to Aaron, the owner. He told me that we were trying to "rip him off". I stated that the majority of our home is tile and they cannot count that as square footage of carpet being cleaned. He then told me that he looked up our home square footage on the internet and that we had 3,600 sq ft. I agreed, but said that the amount of carpet was less than 1,500. I know this because my wife and I personally measured every room in case of a SCAM. Boy, was I right. I offered to come home and measure the rooms with his technician or have him come out and verify. He refused and called his technician and told him to leave without completing any work because I was "unprofessional". I called him back once I arrived at home (10 minutes after technician left) and he said he would call his technician and then call me back...SURPRISE he didn't call me back. Also, when I was on the [hone with Aaron he would pretend that he couldn't hear me when I would question him on his business ethics and integrity. As others mentioned, they mark your Groupon as "Redeemed" when you schedule your appointment. Another example of unethical business practice. So, I would definitely AVOID this business (and I use that term loosely with them) at all cost. He also tried to tell me that because we have a nice home that we should be willing to pay more than $59 for this service. I don't remember seeing home value on the deal the THEY OFFERED, but maybe that's another thing that they believe should be in the fine print. Rude, unethical, and unprofessional should be their company motto!!

STAY AWAY!!! This company is ...

Updated Review of Service-

I called and scheduled an appointment to give this company a chance to rectify their gross error and lack of service from last summer. This time, the cleaners DID show-up and DID clean my carpets, without any arguments, insults or refusals. The two gentlemen who arrived to clean were incredibly fast. (~600'sq of carpet in 20-30m). By the time I finished talking to them for introductions, payment and cleaning they were practically done with my cleaning.



While the cleaning was acceptable and the 2 cleaners were delightful there were a few things I took issue with (as a former manager of a much larger carpet cleaning company, in a much larger metropolitan area):

1) They were 1 hour late, after their 'appointment window'

2) They were sent to me in Boulder after a job in Aurora that was scheduled at the same time.

3) The dispatchers (who establish service routes to cover the day's appointments) are incompetent. (i.e., 1 job in Aurora & 1 job in Boulder, both scheduled 9-11am on the same day, to be completed by the same crew is really bad planning when you have multiple crews that could work a North route and a South route.

4) The cleaners were quick to pre-treat high traffic areas, 3 seconds and 12" in front of the truck mount cleaner wand. As a result, nothing was "PRE" treated and all stains were ignored- again (from my experience and conversations with this company), I blame the dispatchers who require the cleaners to complete impossible routes, leaving them stressed, in a rush and perpetually late.



The treatment was satisfactory as a very basic clean. I hope the owner is able to figure out the basics of time management, route planning and customer service as they are all inextricably intertwined for an on-location service business such as this.

UPDATE-

2 weeks after my very negative experience, I received a call asking if there was anything they could do to correct the situation. While I already had my carpets cleaned by another company, Xtreme Steam wanted to do anything they could to make-up for this incident. They offered me a full-house cleaning whenever I need it in the future and I will be interested to see how the service goes when I use it.

STAY AWAY!!! This company is entirely unethical- I scheduled a Livingsocial deal which they REFUSED to honor the DAY OF SERVICE!



When I called to schedule I was told that my address was not problem. On the day I was supposed to receive service, after taking the day off work and scheduling around their arrival window, they called me to tell me that I lived outside of their 'distance restrictions,' and out-right refused to complete the service.



When I told the manager that the person who scheduled me said that it was not a problem he started screaming at me that I didn't run his business and didn't know anything.



Considering they willingly scheduled my appointment, knowing my address, but refused to honor their service the day of my appointment, costing me a day of work, I would say they have a serious ethics problem and I would NOT do business with them!

Bought a voucher through amazon local for a duct and furnace cleaning. First appointment they showed up way too early, and when my room mate showed up on time, they had already left and were not willing to come back. Had to reschedule.



Second time they showed up, and called me up wanting to charge me extra for cleaning the return grills. After talking on the phone, the lady there told me that i needed to pay extra, or have my friend sign a waiver that she would not be cleaning the entire return system. After i told her that wasn't was in the voucher, and that it was advertised that they would clean one supply duct system and one return duct system along with the furnace, she became defensive. Eventually, she left and DID NOT CLEAN ANYTHING!



STAY AWAY!! EDIT - Owner called me up after the technician left, trying to explain why my system in my small house required an extra $120 fee, and started raising his voice with me when i started arguing. Very rude. Again, STAY AWAY!!!
