Other Schools Pale in Comparison

We looked at several schools before coming to Old Peachtree. The moment we stepped onto the grounds, we realized those other schools paled in comparison. First, the setting: acres of gorgeous landscaping, towering trees, flowers blooming, farm animals, a pond. Then you step inside the classrooms and you don't find desks cramped together or pictures of Big Bird. You find an open classroom filled with materials to keep children interested - and learning - at all times. You find a relaxed environment, guided by firm rules but a gentle hand, where children soak in the lessons and don't even realize they're "in school." The playgrounds aren't just a bare square of grass with a swing. There are flower and vegetable gardens, picnic benches and shade trees, the right kind of equipment to foster imagination and strength and balance. And last but certainly not least, there's the staff: teachers dedicated to montessori ideals, soft-spoken and kind and loving; the administration works so hard to keep the school top-notch, to plan for the needs of the children, and to make every family feel as though they are part of the community. I only hope they expand the school to the high school level so our daughter can attend it her whole life. That's how much we love this school.

The right place

I didn't know a lot about Montessori schools, but visited at the urging of a friend. When I saw the classroom, something clicked and I knew it was a wonderful place for children and that they were really learning. It is a good community of parents and the staff is incredible. I recommend it highly, and encourage anyone seeking a high quality education for their child/ren, up to age 12, to visit. I'm very grateful that we found Old Peachtree Montessori. I never expected to love the school my children attend.

a wonderful place

I have been a teacher at this school for 14 years and love it. My daughter has been a student there for her whole life. I am so fortunate to be able to look forward to going to work each day and know my child is in a nurturing, inspiring environment. The school is truly a community of adults and children working together to ensure an atmosphere of respect and kindness while striving to give everyone the support that is needed so we are all able to reach our greatest potential. My child has learned so much more than she would have learned in a more traditional school. She has learned problem solving skills, leadership qualities, self confidence (along with multiplication, the names of the countries in South America, and an interest in reading chapter book s independently) and she is only 6 years old! I would recommend anyone with a child to tour the school before making a decision regarding the education of their child!
