Played this course for the first time yesterday. Loved it! The greens are pretty darned good for a public course. Smooth, and fast, and the pins are tucked in some interesting locations. Nice undulating greens, so you get a variety of putts. Also, the course has a lot of variety. Uphill, downhill, dogleg lefts and rights. Some long holes, some short. And $15 to play all day? Are you kidding me? My friend and I got 46 holes in before it got too dark to continue. Definitely going back. I loved it.

the pebble beach of southeast mass.

Locust Valley public golf course is one of the nicest public golf courses i have ever played, and very affordable. The fairways are plush and the greens resemble those of Augusta national. and you don't even have to book tee times. You can just show up and pretty much walk right on the first tee. The first two holes are par 5's and very challenging. and the rest of the course is as well with 3 very difficult par 3's and 4 outstanding par 4's. They even have a kid that works there that resembles Danny Noonan from Caddyshack. Plus they have willow tree chicken salad in the clubhouse. If you want to golf anywhere in massachusetts spend the 10 dollars and try locust valley. The only thing the valley is missing is Judge Smails.
