After a terrible experience with Weinstein Hospice, a friend who runs a senior program at Wesley Woods suggested that I call Halcyon Hospice. We explained about our trauma with Weinstein Hospice. They came immediately. Our nurse was amazing. (Renee) . She was caring and warm, and so respectful of Dad's caregiver who was dad's life anchor -- and who was judged so horribly by Weinstein Hospice. Renee consulted with him every step of the way, acknowledging that he was the one who really knew Dad the best. Halcyon Hospice was so attentive. They were everything that one hopes for in hospice care. Unfortunately we only had two days of their wonderful care before Dad transitioned. But i believe he felt relaxed enough with their care for him to finally slide out of his deteriorating body. Our wonderful nurse, who only knew Dad for two days, came to his memorial service. That is really something. I could not recommend Halcyon more. I am forever grateful.
