Our company was founded in 1952 by Guy T Gunter Jr of East Atlanta. Born in 1918, Mr. Gunter began as an entrepreneur picking up bottle caps at the age of seven. By the age of twelve Mr. Gunter owned the largest paper route in Atlanta. As he ascended the business ladder, his path was altered, due to the start of WWII. Serving his country as a Glider Pilot, he flew four missions including D-day. With the war over, he returned to Atlanta to start a family and found a business. Thus in 1952 Guy T Gunter and Associates was born. In the first ten years of business Mr. Gunter was credited with introducing and representing a number of prominent products to the southeastern marketplace. These products include Panasonic, Hitachi, Subzero, Thermador, Chambers and even everyone's favorite mood-light, the Lava Lamp. Afterwards Mr. Gunter continued building the organization we are today. We currently have 12 employees and offer some of the most knowledgeable staff in the industry. We have an expert installation team on staff, headed by Jon K. Chester (who's been with us for more than 30 years). Guy T. Gunter and Associates features the only total in-house appliance installation service in Atlanta. Other appliance companies refer outside independent installers to their customers; with our in house installers we are capable of offering personal, long lasting service and support that is unparalleled in the industry.

This is the best way to sum up my experience with Guy Gunter Home... I purchased all of my appliances from them. Paid full price and paid for them to install all of the appliances. Ice maker worked for 1 day and stopped. Guy Gunter Home has refused to service the equipment since it is now a "service issue" instead of an appliance issue. It is a mess and I am forced to deal with all of the manufacturers or service companies directly (U-line ice machine (never worked), Wolf oven and water on the Sub-zero fridge all have problems). Buy your appliances on-line and have a local service company install them (we are using Sterling). It is tax free and no shipping. Would you tolerate buying a car, have it stop working when you pulled it off the lot and have the dealership tell you its "not their problem call 1-800"? That is Guy Gunter Home business model and BUYER BEWARE! I can't see any value except for their show room.

Good selection and helpful staff, but the current location is not as convenient to intown neighborhoods as their former 14th St location.
