Echter's Nursery & Garden Center is one of the largest retail garden centers in Colorado. The nursery grows many unusual varieties of flowers not normally found in garden centers. It offers more than 2,500 varieties of flowers each year. All of the annuals, perennials, roses and poinsettias grown by Echter's are sold through its retail store. In addition to the plants grown in the greenhouse, Echter's sells trees and shrubs and houseplants. The garden center has more than 70,000 square feet of display area. Its patio shop has fine outdoor furniture and garden benches and outdoor cooking systems. The wildlife department has bird feeders, birdhouses and specialty blends of birdseed for the bird enthusiast. Echter's holds many community events at no charge. At Christmas time the garden center is transformed into a Christmas wonderland with thousands of colorful poinsettias, pre-lit life-like Christmas trees, fresh-cut Christmas trees, themed trees decorated with unusual ornaments. Echter's is a family-owned business founded in 1959.

I love shopping here! The selection is vast and I have had great service. I especially like the fact that the staff is knowledgeable, beyond my expectations and I am a master gardener.

My very favorite thing about Echter's is that they actually answer the phone and verify they have what I want before I drive over there. I have had horrible service from Paulino's and they NEVER answer their phone. O'Tooles is close to me and their prices are a bit better but they don't have the selection that Echter's has.

Another plus at Echter's is that you can purchase 100% warranties on certain more expensive plants and trees to be sure they make it for at least a year.

Photos attached are from Echter's and they have the former owner of Timberline gardens as their cactus expert. He is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable! He recommended this new prickly pear for our xeri-scaped front yard along with a couple others we added this year that bloom red. All from Echter's.

I've read (above) the negative...

I've read (above) the negative comments about Echter's Nursery & Garden Ctr, but having purchased items there over many years; the only reason I would avoid them and go to O'tooles (or elswhere) is: It seems to me that O'tools (at el.) have lower prices? Echter's carries a very large stock of gardening items, and they always seem to have what I need ... Plus ... I wouldn't pay any attention to their elderly employees lecturing me about anything ... They can't help it if they're overly tired at the end of the work day ...... We all get old ...
