Established in 1887, the Boston High School is a part of Shelby County Schools. It serves more than 2,000 students and offer classes from grade nine through 12. The school provides a choice of curriculum in its four-year plan. Its general curriculum includes business education, English, instrumental and vocal music, arts, mathematics, health sciences, social studies, French and Latin. Its technical curriculum offers courses in agriculture, cosmetology, horticulture, family, and consumer science and construction technology. The school also has a guidance department that assists with course scheduling, grade information, graduation requirements, career planning, college and scholarship applications, tutoring, study skills recommendations and testing programs. Located in Arlington, Tenn., the Boston High School consists of subject-related clubs, sports teams, honors societies and varied departments.
