I went to H & R Block in Brookline last year and had a great experience. This year I went to H & R Block in Arlington and met with Martha Drouet, the Master Tax Adviser because I wanted to get my taxes done asap because I need my refund quickly. We met early in February and I wasn't sure if I need anything regarding my health insurance through the MA Health Connector and she said that I did not. Turns out it is very important that you have a 1095-A if you have health coverage through the Health Connector. I received a notice weeks later that my return can't be processed until the 1095-A issue is resolved. I went back to H & R Block and had to wait 4 days to meet with Martha. She acted like she was doing me the biggest favor in the world to prepare a form to file and took no responsibility for telling me that I didn't need anything additional regarding health insurance. Now two months after the original filing my refund is still in limbo and I have no idea when I will receive it. I also paid the "peace of mind" extra fee to insure any issues are resolved if an error is made but apparently if you need to return due to mistakes made or omissions you get a real attitude. I would never return to this H & R Block but have had good experiences with other locations.
