Over a period of ten years Rick and his crew have done three transmission rebuilds for us. A 1993 Chevy van, and two 1997 GMC's - a Yukon and a Suburban. They've also managed to find and fix "gremlins" in a new crate engine install that two "speed shops" and a highly rated GM service center failed to find. We go to them for Michelin tires and get a fair price. Highly recommend.

I had a 1999 Chevrolet Tracker, which had I bought used. When making a sharp turn in 4 wheel drive high, it made a clunk, slam, banging noise, that sounded like someone hit the floor pan with a sledgehammer (found out later it was a factory defect, and was a recall by Chevy). I took it to them, and they replaced a pump, which they said was the problem, test drove it over and over, problem solved, to the tune of 500+ bucks. I picked it up on a Saturday, after hours, That Monday morning, we had a good snowfall, and I headed to Scranton to work. As I made a sharp right onto the Casey Highway, (in 4 wheel high), it banged as bad as when I took it to them. After work I stopped there, they insisted the pump was the problem, and they test drove it, over and over in 4 wheel, and it was quiet as a mouse, they fixed it. I asked where the old pump was, I wanted it put back on, they told me it went out with the recyclables that day, just my luck! They insisted I was wrong, they were right, and no refund of 500 bucks for me. I drove it like that the couple years more I had it (learned if you kept the RPM`s low in turns, the bang was minimal, (it was just over the mileage limit to be covered under the recall). If they test drove it at all, they would know they did not fix it. They took me for 500 bucks, I would call them thieves, that would be putting it nicely! I would recommend you take your vehicle anywhere else, but to R.S. Kurilla Transmission in Archbald, Pa. I would give them a negative 5 stars, if that was possible!
