I have always liked & visit Memories fairly often, I like to see what changes and hopefully find something I can't live without. I have read the other reviews, and what people don't want to acknowledge is the theft that goes on everywhere, and we all pay for that. Either with the inconvenience of having to check a purse, or just through pricing. Business owners, especially those who have consigned items have even more need for higher scrutiny, because they don't own everything for sale in their building. I for one, hate to bring any purse into an antique store for fear of whacking something off a shelf. I know many retail stores that have "big purse" policies, not just antique stores.

As for poor foot traffic, we had trouble finding a parking spot 2 weeks ago! Check it out if you are a browser or a buyer!

Rented a booth there for a tim...

Rented a booth there for a time and also have shopped there a few times. The owner (Pete) is very rude and only cares about his money. According to his lease, he only requires a 28-notice or "month-to-month" lease, but when I put in my notice to stop my booth (due to VERY poor traffic there, which is surprising being right off Hwy 41) he suddenly requires me to be responsible for a month and a half of booth rental - AND threatens to make me pay for days "he let me move in early". Mind you - his lease is so shotty that there are loopholes to all of this - and his "letting me move in early" was not included in the lease. If it wasn't going to be a bigger headache dealing with court costs and more time dealing with Pete - I definitely would have challenged his lease and business practices. All of that aside - walk-in traffic is poor to this mall, and lots of booth vacancies. I would highly recommend Fox Valley Antique Mall for shopping and vendor purposes... NEVER AGAIN will deal with Memories or recommend others to go there!

TERRIBLE!! Don't stop, keep driving!!!

Let's face it there are alot of good antique stores around here. I am from Milwaukee and there are more antique stores that are owned by friendly, quaint people and usually I can find a unique peice of furniture for my 145 year old victorian home in the smaller, out of the way stores. However, this store is not one of them. Please, PLEASE stay away from these people. When you see it on the highway, keep going north as there are much better stores, believe me! These people are down right racist scoundrels that have no problem violating your rights or personal space.

Worst antique experience ever

I visited Memories Antique Mall in mid-October 2007 with a large group of friends, nearly all women. Upon entering the mall, we were informed that we had to check all of our purses. When several of us expressed concern about this, we were told, very rudely it was mall policy and HAD to be done. As I started to ask why, I was told again it was mall policy and if I did not like it, I could go sit in the bus to wait for my friends. Others in my group were told the same thing. I can understand such a policy, as sadly the world is going to the dogs, but to have no explanation other than it was mall policy, was horrendously rude. Here was a group of people, with a ton of cash to SPEND, and we were treated VERY POORLY. Out of 40+ people, only two people bought anything. With such poor management, I can see why there are so many empty dealer booths. I think this mall may be on its way out of business. It was a VERY BAD experience.
