In 1923, a group of local citizens sensed a need for another golf club in the Appleton, Wis., area. By 1924, famed architect W.C. Jackson was carving the Butte des Morts Country Club golf course out of the Wisconsin farmland. The early work on the golf course, such as tree removal and landscaping, was all done by horses and hands. Butte des Morts Country Club is a members-only club that, in addition to golf, features swimming pools, two tennis courts, full-course dining, an a la carte grill and private dining rooms. The golf course is an 18-hole, par-70 course with narrow fairways and mature trees.

We held our wedding ceremony outside on the balcony and the reception inside at Butte des Morts. It was absolutely perfect. The food was wonderful, the venue beautiful, and the event coordinator made it go perfectly. BTW, you do not need to be a member or have a member sponsor.
