Never again. They misplaced my 8lb chihuahua, they left her on ice for 2 weeks. Please do not use this service.

After a long 15 years with our loved German Shepherd named Duke it was his time to begin his journey to heaven. Our family decided to have a private cremation, when we went to the vets office to get his ashes what we received was way more than what we thought we were getting, We did not expect this beautiful wooden box with his name engraved on a brass nameplate. Thank you so much, you went above and beyond what we were expecting and the time and effort is very much appreciated.

Never Again

They treat the deceased pet like throwing out the trash.

Our beloved cat Bob passed awa...

Our beloved cat Bob passed away on Dec.17th 2013 and was taken to Greenbrier on Dec 18th for private cremation with the ashes to be returned to us. Yes, Greenbrier does a lovely job with the beautiful box, poem and even a clay paw print impression, but none of that matters if you don't receive YOUR pet. I received the paw print of a dog. Clearly, a dog. After receiving the paw print back they've even admitted to me and my vet that they screwed up and gave us the wrong paw print, but insist we have the correct ashes. How do I know? No way of proving it. Is it an honest mistake? Probably. A horrible one that's caused us more pain. But how they are handling it now is despicable. We've received three different stories from three different employees as to what happened. The manager Debbie in different words basically called one of her employees a liar. When I asked the manager why I got one story from her, which was that my cat's print was never made....another story from an employee that Bob's was made and the owner of the dog got Bob's, she said she would have to speak with that employee who was at lunch, would be back in about an hour, and she would call me back. In the same call, I also asked if I could have that dog's vet clinic information so I could verify with the clinic that this dog did exist, she said she would have to pull the file. I told her I was not accusing them of lying, but I felt if I could get any information on this dog, like size, I could possibly know better if I had my cats based on amount of ash. She never called back. Our phone call was completely polite, I was never rude, she was never rude. She insisted she wanted to help give me some comfort. I've left numerous messages for her to call me (as I'm always told she's in a meeting or on the phone) and she has not called me. Clearly she has something to hide. I just wanted to know what happened and if Bob's print was out there somewhere. I wanted something more to go on to give me assurance we at least have my babies ashes, but they refuse to speak with me. This was already a very difficult time, which they just keep making worse. I'd like to save others from the same misery. Please don't use this place. Humans make mistakes, but their story is not adding up and it's beyond reproach to not speak to me once I asked questions. My vet has taken this so seriously that he immediately stopped using them and went with another company.

In the past I had a pet cremated in Germany while stationed there, and she was returned to me in a white light weight cardboard box, with a plastic bag of ashes inside. I didn't question the handling of my first and one of my most favored pets. But just recently, I lost my best friend of 10 years (a pit/lab) and my VET contracted with Greenbrier to handle his cremation. My pet was returned to me in a very attractive burlap bag, with a beautiful varnished box with a carved design on the box. Also, in the bag was a ceramic keepsake of his paw print. I don't know if Greenbrier or my VET placed the beautiful poem from Rainbow Bridge and a bookmark with a butterfly that will be planted to yield wild flowers, but it made me cry tears of gratitude for the proper handling of my pet and their sensitivity to my loss. In comparison to my first experience, Greenbrier definitely gets 5 stars from me.

Very disappointed in the way this company operates several times through employee's I have heard not only of remains being miss handles but also mixed together, not knowing for sure if this is my bird or your dog. What a disgrace in memory services. I also am made aware of miss practices in employment records . They are very controlling in a rude and disrespectful attitude with their employees and treat veterans with distain, shame on the owner and manger for the disrepectful display of nonprofessionalism and taking advantage of the greifing public

***DO NOT USE*** First of all ...

***DO NOT USE*** First of all they completely screwed up my baby's urn. Items on website and in catalog are falsely advertised. Cannot count on them to even have what they advertise, or send the right item, or spell your pet's name right. When I called, grieving and sad, about the WRONG, CHEESY, POORLY CRAFTED urn I received, I was SCREAMED at and not allowed to speak and called a liar. Second of all, I work for a veterinary clinic who uses them and have seen them treat many of my clients the same way :( Terrible group of people. Incompetence is one thing- screaming at clients / grieving owners at that, is just low.

Tragic Experience brought me to Greenbrier

Duke has been my best friend for 15 years, my baby boy. It is impossible to put into words how special he was to me and to everyone he met. My heart is broken beyond repair but I am so thankful he came into my life. I am so grateful to the people at Greenbrier for everything that they have done for me, I utilized their grief counselors, listened to the tools that they gave me to help deal with the guilt, remorse, and uncontrollable sadness. There is not one person but the entire staff to thank for their compassion...

Wrongful Cremation of our pet

We recently had to put our pet to sleep and after 14 years it was one of the most difficult days in our family life.

We signed a written agreement to have our pet’s remains cremated as a “private cremation” with Greenbrier Pet Services of Apopka. A couple days later we followed-up with Greenbrier to make certain that the cremation was done and that we would be receiving his ashes soon. What we were told was a nightmare!

Greenbrier had signed for our pet’s remains as a “private cremation” at the animal hospital where they were picking him up. When his remains were brought to Greenbrier, no “check & balance” were performed and Greenbrier gave him a communal cremation and we would never have his ashes.

We have sent two Certified Letters to Greenbrier regarding this issue and not once have they responded or made any attempt to reach us. A situation we’re sure they want to just go away. It appears when they have erred their true colors of unprofessionalism shine through.

We have read horror stories about crematoriums and we do not know if this has happened before with Greenbrier Pet Service of Apopka but it has happened to us and ONCE is far too many times….and it was WRONG!

He was a GIFT OF LIFE TO US and they have desecrated our memory and now we will never have his ashes to comfort us.

When they boast on their website, “we know how much pets can enrich your life, let us help honor their memory”, this is a memory we take to bed with us each night.

They need to own up to their mistakes, be professional, not in just the good times but when errors are made.

They need to improve on their “check & balances” (if they have one) to prevent such atrocities.

Most Comforting Experience

The staff at Greenbrier were so professional and kind. I don't think in this emotional time that I would of been able to handle it. They took good care of my little angel and allowed me my time to say good bye.

Thank you,

Ms.Rachel Ryan
