In 2007, John Wall the founder of The TV Warehouse was a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University. At the time, John was looking for a new TV. He located an open box 40 Flat Screen Samsung at a very reasonable price. John had no idea what an open box TV was but decided to investigate. Turns out that an open box TV was originally sold at a big box store and was either a scratch and dent, returned, exchanged, and or refurbished.  John bought the TV. He was very impressed. Although the TV was a couple of years old, it had a great picture and had the majority of the latest features. John believed there was a market for open box TVs that offered recent features but at a significantly lower price than brand new TVs with the same or more features.  This lead to the beginning of a new business.  John began purchasing more open box TVs and started selling them out of his home. Over the years the business continued to grow and it eventually became The TV Warehouse.
