Emilie Van Kooten, PT, joined The Iowa Clinic in 2019 after graduating from Creighton University. As a native Iowan, she always wanted to find a place that would provide a great work-life balance as well as the opportunity to grow professionally, which led her to The Iowa Clinic. Emilie knew she wanted to go into the medical profession. Physical therapy allowed her to marry her interest in improving function and quality of life with her passion for a healthy lifestyle. She enjoys helping her patients see past their impairments and diagnoses to realize what they can do- not what they cannot. Emilie and her husband, Ryan live in Des Moines with their two fur babies Finn and Ollie who are two spunky golden retrievers. When she's not in the clinic, Emilie likes to work out, run, or take Finn and Ollie for a walk. She’s also picked up cooking and baking.
