Shame on Angel Care!

Last summer our family contracted with Angel Care for our aging parents. Dad, at 94 had been recently diagnosed with cancer, and mom at 86 has dementia. On day two of the 18-day assignment, my father reported that the caregiver assigned to our family engaged in a shouting match with our mother. Our family considered this an agregious breech of professional conduct. Agency owner, Terri Marr refused to meet with us discuss the situation and our request to be released from our contract. We then sent a certified letter to Ms. Marr, which was refused, and returned to us unopened. Insead, the agency charged us $4,400 for only two days of service. I assign a "one-star" rating for the agency (instead of none) because in spite of the abysmal leadership and managment skills of Ms. Marr, I do believe there are some good and ethical people who work for the agency. Too bad they didn't have the courage to stand up to the injustice that was levied on our family. We would have been happy to find a reasonable settlement, but never got the chance to meet with the one person who was able to make that happen, Ms. Marr. It is very disheartening to find such a lack of compassion from an agency whose mission is to provide care to the most vulnerable. This agency is mis-named!
