Founded in 1983, the Blount County Communications Center, also known as E-911, is responsible for receiving and dispatching emergency and nonemergency calls. The center provides 911 call answering services. It is also responsible for assigning addresses and street names. The Blount County Communications Center employs a staff of over 25 people. In addition, the center offers CPR Classes to the public on a monthly basis. It provides services to more than 10 agencies, including fire departments and law enforcement entities. The center offers emergency medical dispatching solutions for the citizens and communities of Blount County in Tennessee. The Blount County Communications Center additionally provides online services.
